Alive

Without Jesus, are we ever really ALIVE?

ALIVE is a series of beautifully produced short films which tell the stories of some of the people who encountered Jesus after his resurrection and addresses key human needs. It shows how Jesus’ resurrection still meets those needs for us today.

We are running the five week course from Tuesday 28th April at 9:30am till 11:00am at Dalmeny.

The course will take place in the Amos Room (upstairs). Please note that unfortunately there is no stair lift access.

Additional support available:
  • If you have a preschool child, a crèche will be provided through Teas and Tots during the session.
  • If you care for someone with dementia (or similar needs), our pastoral team will be available to provide them with some company in the café while you attend.
If you plan to use either of these, please indicate this on the sign-up form.
Spaces are limited—sign up below, and we’ll confirm your place before the course begins.

    Why ALIVE?

Without Jesus, are we ever really ALIVE?

The 40 days between Jesus’ resurrection, which we celebrate at Easter, and his ascension are extraordinary. They changed the world and could change the lives of people you know and those in your community.

In 2012, the team at KingsGate Community Church, led by Senior Pastor, Dave Smith, decided to make the most of Easter. They held special Easter Celebration Services and encouraged everyone in their congregations to invite someone along. Following the Easter weekend, they ran a series of Sundays particularly for guests, in order to invite everyone from Easter back again for the following five weeks. Each week, the focus was on a different resurrection appearance of Jesus and the difference that he made in people’s lives following his resurrection. The result was that people returned to services and went on a journey of faith.

    The Research
Then in 2015 and 2022 the Talking Jesus research showed us that there were many people who believed in the resurrection in the UK population. 44% in 2015 and 45% in 2022. Some of these people are confident believers but many believe with some questions. The ALIVE series has been created for this specific group of partial resurrection believers.

ALIVE invites these people on a journey to explore the ways that Jesus’ resurrection meets our deepest human needs and changes lives.
