It has been a very busy summer at Dalmeny Kirk Cafe and Connections Cafe, with lots of activities, familiar faces, new customers, sunshine, rain and, of course, plenty of coffee!
The summer got off to a great start at Dalmeny Kirk Cafe with our Craft Cafés, designed to welcome families into the cafe and provide free, accessible activities for children during the holidays. Across three sessions, children enjoyed card making, jewellery making and paper plate decorating, with around 40 children taking part alongside their accompanying adults. The activities were enjoyed alongside breakfast rolls, lovely home baking and plenty of hot drinks!
At Connections Cafe, there was plenty more creativity, with children making keyrings, masks and photo frames, playing with homemade playdoh, making fish and decorating treasure chests. There was lots of lovely homemade baking to enjoy too! It was wonderful to see the cafe buzzing with life, creativity and the smiles and laughter of children throughout the holidays.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported these activities. And, as always, a very special thank you to our amazing volunteers, whose time and enthusiasm make these events possible.
We look forward to sharing more stories from our busy summer over the coming newsletters!
